Inline Tube - Removing Shipping Bends

Shipping bends are required on all lines over 6 feet in length to keep your shipping costs as low as possible while delivery a quality product.  Straighten the line between the white tags. The bend will roll out by following these few steps. Large bends do not stress the lines, so the tube will become completely straight.

Step 1. A shipping bend is about the radius of a 5 gallon bucket.

Step 2.  Position the tube on the floor keeping the bend perpendicular while using the floor as a straight edge.  Roll the tube flat against the floor working out most of the bend.

Step 3. Roll the tube against the floor or desktop making it as straight as possible.

Step 4. After most of the bend is straightened, the remaining bow can be removed using your knee.

Step 5. The remaining minor waves are removed by hand straightening. Use a straight surface or desk edge to assess the straightened section and make any final tweaks.

Step 6. Once you have straightened the line, you are ready to install your Inline Tubes. Be sure to remove the straitening tags at this time.  If any tag adhesive remains, it may be removed with nail polish remover or lighter fluid.

Quick Tip: DO NOT use a tubing bender. The bender has a small whell that will kink the tube when bending in the opposite direction. Remove shipping bends BY HAND.
